An expert workshop on Biodiversity Resource Mobilization was held in Rome on 7-8 July 2014 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as opening event for the Directorate-general for nature and sea protection during the semester of Italian Presidency of the EU Council. The first day was focused on the technical and methodological aspects related to resources mobilization: innovative and traditional biodiversity financial mechanisms, biodiversity harmful subsidies and incentives, connection with other existing statistical and environmental accounting processes and other international processes (SDGs and ODA). The second day was restricted to European Commission and Member States experts and was entirely devoted to the preparation of the Position Paper in view of the CBD COP12.
