As part of the continuous efforts to promote energy efficiency measures in Lebanon, the LCEC has joined a new project called COOL_ME and which aims at “Scaling-Up Sustainable Cooling in the Middle East”. COOL_ME is funded by the “International Climate Initiative” in Germany and includes a large number of partners from Germany, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, and Lebanon. Among others, the COOL_ME project aims at developing financial models to boost the transition of the cooling systems in the Lebanese market, including air conditioning in the residential sector, as well as air conditioning and refrigeration in the commercial buildings. The activities of the COOL_ME are fully harmonized with the initiatives of Lebanon’s National Energy Efficiency Action Plan for the period 2016-2020.
